5. Processed meats
Studies have also linked diets high in processed meats to increased risk of diabetes. Processed meats are meats that have gone through lots of manufacturing and often include strange cuts, lots of fat and oil, and a relatively small amount of actual protein that the body can use.
It was once thought that it was protein, in general, that was linked with diabetes but we have since been able to narrow the culprit down more specifically to processed meats.
