10 Silent Signs of Type 1 Diabetes You May Miss

Type I diabetes used to be called juvenile diabetes because it typically manifested during childhood. Currently, 5% to 10% of the population has type I diabetes, while the rest have type II. With type I diabetes, the body’s immune system destroys the insulin-releasing cells, which eventually completely impairs the body’s ability to manufacture insulin at any level.

Without insulin, the body simply cannot absorb glucose and convert it into energy.

Those who suffer from type I diabetes are at a major risk for serious illness or death. Blood sugar that is too high or too low can cause seizures, coma, depleted energy levels, and a whole lot more.

That’s why those who have type I diabetes need to get it diagnosed as soon as possible and start treatment right away. While type I diabetes is generally diagnosed early, there are some cases when a patient falls to the cracks and does not get diagnosed until later in life. Even more worrying, some pages never get diagnosed at all in the first they realize that they have the disease; it has caused severe health problems. Here are 10 signs of type I diabetes that you might miss if you are not looking for them.

1. Irritability

Everyone gets in a bad mood once in a while. But if you find yourself becoming irritable for no reason, it could be a sign of diabetes. When you have high blood sugar, the symptoms are the same as if you are suffering from depression.

You feel despair, you get frustrated easily and he spent a great deal of time being moody. If you are having depressive episodes, and you have no history of depression, then you may want to get your blood sugar checked and find out if that is what is causing your mood symptoms.
