6. Being tired all the time
A person with hyperglycemia might be tired all the time. There are two ways in which this happens. First, the presence of too much glucose in the blood can slow circulation considerably, because the blood becomes a sludge and moves through the body very slowly. In addition, hyperglycemia can cause inflammation and that can make a person feel fatigued as well.
So, diabetics have three things working against them when it comes to trying to come up with the energy to do stuff: First, they don’t always get the energy they need from food because their body doesn’t break down the glucose into energy very well. Second, they have poor circulation and blood moving through the body like maple syrup and third, they have major inflammation, which tells the brain that the body needs to rest, making the diabetic feel tired.
