8. Loss of Balance
Something else to be aware of when it comes to childhood diabetes is the loss of balance. The reasons for this have to do with the same factors being discussed. The body is simply not getting enough glucose to be able to turn into energy, the blood is laden down with sugar and various other effects of diabetes mean that your child may have a hard time balancing.
Pay attention to your child’s normal development and make sure that you know when they are not being able to balance correctly for their age group or development stage. Talk to your pediatrician if you have any questions about it.
