5. Unexplained Weight Loss
Another symptom of juvenile diabetes is unexplained weight loss. Weigh your child regularly and keep track. Check their weight with the development chart to let you know if they are progressing normally. If you notice any anomalous weight loss, then it may be a sign of childhood diabetes.
The reason that this happens is that when the body is unable to process the food that your child eats and use that glucose for energy, then they begin to pull glucose from the fat stores which allow the body to keep going and remain functional.
