6. Mental confusion
Diabetes insipidus can also cause patients to feel mentally confused and unable to concentrate. The reason that mental confusion can arise as a result of this condition is directly related to the lack of water in the body.
Every organ within the body needs to receive the proper amount of water; particularly the brain. If your body is not retaining water, your brain will not be able to receive the proper amount of water that it needs to function properly. This could lead to mental confusion, disorientation, and an impairment to the short term or long term memory, or both.
