2. Frequent Urination
Something that goes right along with increased thirst is frequent urination. Your child is going to be drinking more than usual, which is going to cause frequent urination all by itself. But the kidneys also get involved when there’s too much glucose in the blood.
The kidneys try to get rid of that extra glucose through your child’s urine. This means that they will need to go to the bathroom a lot more than usual. Although the diagnosis is common in younger children, make sure that your older children know these signs of diabetes as well.
