Causes of Types II Diabetes
You may be wondering about the causes of Type II diabetes and whether the causes of this form of the illness are also unknown. Fortunately, medical science does know the cause of Type II diabetes. We’ll go over some of those causes below in more detail and discuss symptoms a little later.
1. Obesity & Lack of Physical Activity
The first cause of Type II diabetes that we’re going to talk about is obesity. By and large, this is the most common cause of the illness and probably the only one that is preventable. The reason that obesity causes a higher risk of diabetes is that the extra weight and create insulin resistance.
But it isn’t just being overweight in general. Diabetes is more prevalent in people that have extra belly fat rather than fat in other areas. In addition, physical activity makes a difference. Someone who is physically active, even if they are overweight, are at a lower risk of developing diabetes, and exercise has the added side benefit of actually helping you to shed some of those extra pounds in your belly.
