17. Seek out other foods
There are plenty of popular anti-diabetes diets and many different foods that can help to lower your diabetes risk. For example, diabetes has been linked with certain mineral and vitamin deficiencies and in particular, seems to be linked with low levels of chromium and magnesium. You can get chromium from egg yolks as well as whole grains, nuts, and beans. Meanwhile, you can get more magnesium from a whole host of sources, including milk.
Vitamin D as mentioned can be found in supplements or in portabella mushrooms and a great many fish. Fish also contains omega 3, which is a fatty acid that improves cell membrane permeability and which decreases inflammation… both of which could help to lower blood sugar.
It’s not just about what you shouldn’t eat then but also about what you should eat. Seek out healthy foods and keep doing research!
