3. Nausea
Nausea is also a symptom of ketoacidosis and it is related to the previous symptoms in a big way. When the kidneys aren’t working properly, your body doesn’t get enough potassium and sodium. Plus, the longer you go without insulin, the more acidic your blood becomes.
This can lead to stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting. This is a difficult symptom to rely on when it comes to ketoacidosis because nausea can be caused by anything from a dangerous level of ketones to a bad burrito that you got off of the taco truck. This is why you should have a testing kit at home.
