Dried fruits are especially high in glucose. Medjool dates are identified in the United States Department of Agriculture Nutrient Database as having the highest glucose density of all the dried fruit variety. Because glucose is a result of photosynthesis, plants such as fruits, tend to be plentiful in their supply.
Dried fruits’ low water content makes them an efficient, dense dose of the stuff, compared to regular fruit. Other dried fruits you can keep on hand in a little baggie for a boost include dried cranberries (sour and sweet), raisins, and dried cherries. Mix these with nuts for a more filling experience!
