2. Take Vitamin D
It is important to get enough Vitamin D if you suffer from nerve pain. Vitamin D is called the “sunshine” vitamin because your body literally absorbs it from sunlight.
Although some food, such a dairy, is fortified with Vitamin D, it can be difficult to get sufficient amounts from food alone, so it is a good idea to get out once and awhile and get some sunlight, or take supplements if the weather is consistently cloudy.
One British study found that those who had sufficient intake of Vitamin D reported less nerve pain than those with diabetic neuropathy who lacked the sunshine vitamin.
